Neighbourhood Centre Week (NCW) is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the role of Neighbourhood Centres in local communities and across the nation. This year's event will take place on 8-14 May 2021.
The theme for Neighbourhood Centre Week is ‘Loneliness: the solution is community’. Research has found 1 in 4 Australians are lonely, and that the ‘loneliness epidemic’ has significant social, health and economic impacts.
Neighbourhood centres by their very nature help combat loneliness by providing a space for people to meet and form meaningful connections through participation in community programs and projects.
We encourage all Neighbourhood and Community Centres across New South Wales to hold events, activities and media campaigns leading up to and during the week of 8-14 May 2021.
A number of resources have been developed to assist Neighbourhood and Community Centres in NSW to plan and promote their activites for NCW 2021. Material in the Resource Pack include:
- NCW Logo (landscape, portrait, transparent)
- Email Signature
- General Event Poster
- Editable Poster/Flyer (A4 & A3 size)
- Editable Community Survey
- Photo Sign "I Love... Because..."
- Sample Invitation to Elected Official
- Tips on How to Invite Elected Officials to Your Event and How Showcase Your Centre
