The Voice to Parliament

In light of the upcoming referendum on a change to the Australian Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing a body called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice, the LCSA Board has expressed their support for a YES vote.

We believe The Voice to Parliament is an important step towards implementing the Uluru Statement from the Heart in full and recognise the positive impact The Voice can have on the future of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities.

LCSA acknowledges the complexities of the issues for First Nations' people and all communities throughout Australia at this time. We understand there are differing views and opinions amongst our communities regarding The Voice and respect everyone’s right to come to a decision about the referendum for themselves based on the information provided by the government and other trusted sources.
