Join local and international guest speakers for an informative webinar presentation on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We will discuss what the 17 UN SDGs are, why they matter, and how local community organisations contribute towards achieving them.

This special event is being held in the spirit of the IFS Conference that was originally scheduled for this time in August 2020 in Sydney, but has been postponed until 2021 due to COVID-19.

Program

The webinar will be presented in four sessions, followed by an opportunity for a Q&A discussion with our guest speakers:

  1. Setting the Scene: The relationship of IFS and the UN (Chris Hanway & Susan Matloff-Nieves)
  2. Presentation: Connecting neighbourhood and community work with the SDGs (Cameron McRae & Sophie Arnold)
  3. Case Studies: Local front-line workers presentation on how they relate their work to the SDGs.
  4. A Call to Action: Invitation for participants to get involved in further activities we are planning in the lead up to next year’s IFS Conference 2021 (Can Yasmut & Brett Martin)
