As an outcomes-based leader in the not-for-profit sector, Susan brings decades of leadership experience within government and non-government organisations across NSW Australia and the United Kingdom.

Throughout her career Susan has led significant reform projects to strengthen the financial sustainability, governance, workforce development and culture of organisations and sectors.

Starting her career as a registered nurse before moving into senior government and stakeholder management roles, she brings together both clinical and management experience and a unique insight into how not- for- profit services work. 

Before commencing her role at Fams, Susan spent two years as Managing Director of a large charity in the UK. During her time there she led an emergency pandemic program that delivered 27,000 meals to people in need. AS CEO of the Sydney Drug Education and Counselling Centre, Susan earned multiple nominations for sector awards and doubled revenue of the organisation. 

Susan’s goal at Fams is to provide a clear vision, underpinned by a strategic plan to build the capacity and capability of the sector, keep them informed on important issues and advocate for improved policies for children and families. 

Qualifications: Masters in Health Personnel Education, an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management, a Certificate in Governance for Not-for-Profits and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
