COVID Safety Policy

We look forward to welcoming you to the LCSA Conference 2023.

Working with the Crowne Plaza Coogee, all reasonable steps will be taken to make the conference the safest possible environment for delegates and staff.

However, COVID safety also relies on delegates doing the right thing in relation to their health and the well-being of others and adhering to Government guidelines.

Being COVID safe is a shared responsibility, and we want you to enjoy and make the most of the conference.

NSW HEALTH ADVICE

NSW Health strongly recommends people:

  • wear a mask indoors including in the office and on public transport
  • work from home if they have COVID-19, have had contact with a case, or are at higher risk of severe illness, where possible
  • test regularly if they have had contact with a case
  • get together outdoors or in well-ventilated spaces.

FEELING UNWELL?

If you test positive for COVID-19 or you're feeling unwell and experiencing COVID-19 type symptoms, you are strongly encouraged to stay home and not attend the conference in person.

If you test positive while you are attending the conference, or begin to feel unwell, you are strongly encouraged to isolate from Conference delegates by staying in your hotel room or safely leaving the conference altogether. Please contact one of the LCSA staff for assistance.

Free RAT tests will be available at the conference.

All delegates who are unwell or have a high risk of severe illness are encouraged to access the conference online through the event App, rather than in-person.

MASKS

Delegates are encouraged to wear masks while inside the conference venue. Free masks will be available at the conference.

SANITISING & REGULAR CLEANING

Hand sanitising stations are available throughout the conference venue. Please wash and sanitise your hands whenever possible.

The Crowne Plaza advises that they undertake frequent cleaning of high touch points using hospital grade disinfectant.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

The Crowne Plaza main venue (Oceanic Ballroom) has capacity for 400 people, which is well over the expected number of conference delegates.

Seating will not be socially distanced inside the auditorium. If participants are unable to socially distance, then wearing a mask is recommended.

COVID TESTS

Free Rapid Antigen Tests are available at the conference registration desk.

COVID RELATED REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS

If you are unable to attend the conference due to COVID related illness there are several options available:

Refunds for COVID related illness within 6 days prior to the conference will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Proof of illness will be required, such as a positive PCR test or doctor’s certificate. Please contact LCSA to discuss.
